National Half-Marathon...Athenry, Galway - Sun 2nd Sept 2012

From the organisers.......Athenry AC in County Galway are very proud to announce that we have been chosen to host the 2012 AAI Woodies DIY National Half Marathon Championships.

The race will be held on Sunday 2nd September around the streets of Athenry at 1pm.  This is great news for the club and for running in the county and follows on from a very successful hosting of the 10k Championships in Athenry several years ago.

The registration venue, and the start and finish are all within 400 metres of the Athenry train station which is on the main Dublin - Galway line. (See: The M6 Dublin to Galway motorway runs right beside Athenry. Use Junction 17 to exit for the town.

Course Map: . Unlike the Fields of Athenry 10k race, the course will be run clockwise. There will be limited entries on the day.  Entry numbers can be collected at Presentation Hall, Athenry.

The event is open to people who are not members of any athletic club, but they will not be eligible for any of the championship medals.  Anyone who is not a club member should click on the link below and use the second Register button on the page to enter.
