Details of upcoming workshops and courses in SW Munster in March 2013 are below:

Tipperary - Wednesday 27th February Sprints Workshop at Moyne AC Clubhouse, Moyne Co Tipperary. It will be run by Munster Performance Squad Coach Shane McCormack. It takes place from 7-9pm and is open to all athletes and coaches aged 10+. Cost is €5 payable on the night.

Cork - Friday 1st March Jumps Workshop at Cork IT Track. It will be run by Munster Performance Squad Coaches Steve Fleming (Long Jump), Chris Regan (High Jump) and Eamon Flanagan (Pole Vault). It takes place from 7-9pm and is open to all athletes and coaches aged 10+. Cost is €5 payable on the night.

Kerry - Saturday 2nd March Turbo Javelin Workshop at Castleisland Track. It will be run by Louis Wildenboer and the cost is €5 per person. It takes place from 11am-1pm and open to all athletes and coaches.

It is a forum designed for coaches and athletes to discuss various endurance topics covering Track/XC/Road Running. It will be run by Munster Performance Squad Coach Steven Macklin. It is open to all coaches and athletes aged 16+ and cost is €5 payable on the night.

Dungarvan 10k next Sunday...24th Feb 2013

31st Annual Déise College Dungarvan 10k.......The fourth and final race in the Michael Roche carpets spring series, the Déise College Dungarvan 10K will take place next Sunday, the 24th of February at 11am. Now in its 31st  year and one of the oldest races on the local road running calendar, the Déise College  Dungarvan 10k is always one of the more popular races on the busy West Waterford AC calendar. The event will also see a number of perpetual trophies being presented. There is the Seamus Power memorial trophy to the first male finisher and the Mikey Roche memorial trophy for the first local female finisher. They will be using the fast canal circuit as before with the race headquarters at the Dungarvan Sports centre, Quann’s which is where the presentation will also take place. Entry fee 8 euro.

Thursday 14th February there will be a Road Running/XC/Track/Endurance Workshop at Cork IT 7-9pm.

It takes place upstairs in the red brick building next to the track stand at Cork IT Track. This will be an open forum to discuss all things related to endurance running. It will cover both track, cross-country and road running and will be a chance to interact with other coaches in the room and discover new ideas etc.

Just a quick note to say that I have now updated the race calendar on the site. As always, you'll find a link for it at the top of the page or you can just click HERE

Out of all the various things I do on this website, keeping the calendar up to date is one of the most time intensive. I wish I could say that it was just a quick job I could do in an hour or so but it's not. The problem is that the information is literally scattered across the Internet on a load of different websites and Facebook pages.

Looking at the traffic to this website, it is also one of the most popular pages in use. Having trawled through a multitude of sites for the first half of this month then it's not hard to see why. Quite simply, no other site has such a detailed list of races for the six counties in Munster. Hence, that's the reason why it is the calendar that is used by most people.

During this update, I have made one major change to the calendar in that I have extended it by one month. Now, it has a list of events for the current month and the next two months. Before, it was just the current and following month. That should give people plenty of time to plan what races they want to do.

If there are any errors or omissions.........and I have no doubt that there are.....then just send me an e-mail and let me know. My address is on the right hand side of this page. All I need to know is the date, time, what type of race is it....road race, fun run, etc.....and how much does it cost to enter. At the moment, I'm updating up to the end of April 2013.

(4) Once incomplete team scores are balanced then the remainder of the team scores are populated based on the order that the actual runners from each team finished
(5) If a team doesn't have enough finishers to satisfy (3) then continue adding positions until the team numbers are equalised
