  1. It was a good race - went checking for the results but we won't be getting them as they said on facebook "If you have not received your individual result, please let us know but we have decided for this year not to post the entire race results, just the category winners, it is something that we are going to look at for next year though." What are they hiding!!!!

  2. yeah it seems a bit pointless , what exactly is the problem with viewing the whole results , surely nobody cares what other people think !

  3. maybe the low turn out for such a highly advertised commercial race! definately not enough toilet facilities and where were our TECH t-shirts for 50euros!!!its definately a once off race wont be doing it again.Roll on Cork To Cobh another 15 miler €10 entry in oct...

  4. yes, I emailed asking would full result be published to be told that it might be difficult for those who came last in their category to have their names published !! I couldn't believe what I was reading - I assume only adults who could read the clock when they finished the run took part so we already know our times - just interested to see the overall standard. 5. Ran in the Killarney maxi mini marathon yesterday. Beautiful day. Very tough race , but very well organised. Just saw the prize winner results on their page. Prizes were only given to males and females over 40 and 50, even though their website advertises an over 45 section also. With a high entry fee of € 50.00, it is a big gap between sections. When you think of the Cork to Cobh 15 miler and the Cork half marathon with an entry fee of under € 20.00 and a far greater amount of category prizes, some races obviously give greater value for money. 6. I ran the Killarney 15 mile maxi mini marathon on Saturday. It was a very tough race , but well organised. We were texted our individual results on Saturday afternoon. Yesterday, the prize results went up. There were no category results for the over 45 in either the mens or womens section, even though it stated this, and in fact still does, on the website. When I queried it, I was told that they decided to change this and had informed competitors by text the week earlier.
I was looking for the full results this morning, so I texted the contact to ask when they might be posted. I was told that they decided not to post the results this year. When you consider an entry fee of 20e for Cork to Cobh and 20e for the St. Finbarrs half marathon, the 50e fee is quite high and the least the competitors should expect are the results. Perhaps you might post this on your website, as there are a few requests from people looking for these results.

  7. I actually just picked up the phone and explained to the organisers ( who are actually very nice ), that it was very important for ( competitive ) people to see where they came in the race, and they explained that they had promised some of the fun runners who would have had a very slow time, that they would not post the full results, but in hind sight, they will text all competitors tonight and find out who does want the full results, and then they will change this for next year. I think this will please a lot of people.
It is their first year and it was a very well organised race. Next year they will have a cheaper rate for those who enter earlier. It is a tough race, but very different, very scenic and worth running even once.

  8. i think its bad form that the results were not posted-thats a load of rubbish that they wanted to protect the fun runners-in all fairness fun runners wont be checking their time as they did it for fun???!!!i was disgusted at the cotton t-shirt.a bit of a rip off to be fair.im very annoyed.

  9. I think it is a very bad form not to show the full results. If some people with a poor times don't want their names to be on the list why don't they just call them 'fun runners' or something like that?!Just hide their names..We paid 50 euro to take part in it and wanted to see our names on the net!!!
What about people that had very good results but not the best?Maybe they want their names to be on the full list of the results because they're proud of themselves?

  10. Our gang all got an e-mail yesterday with all the results, i think it was sent to everyone, If you did'nt do the race you dont get the results.

I think it was one of the best running events I have been to in a long time, can't wait for next year!

  11. I got an email with all results, if you didn't get the results you should just email them. I was at Dingle last year and there was no prize money and it cost 60 Euros for 13 miles. I think it was good value for a quality race. I do Cork to Cobh every year and I think its a great race but very different, can't wait to go back to Killarney next year.

  12. After reading through the comments it seems that the only thing the organisers have to hide or gain from not publishing the overall results is that they dont want people to know the real numbers that took part in the race. But in all honesty its up to the organisers what they want to do.!! Good luck to them, they made their money!!!!

  13. They shouldn't call it a 'Marathon'

  14. Its gas, there was 10 of us that did the race together, we came down from Dublin for it and made a weekend of it, has a great time and we all received the full results of the race by email so there is nothing being "hidden" as far as I can see. If you took part in the race you received everybodys time, I don't know what the fuss is, I used to enjoy posting comments and interacting with people about races etc but these days all people want to do is moan, it was a great day down in Killarney, the weather was good, the atmosphere was good, some people are never happy, if people aren't happy with prices etc just don't register, there are certain races I did last year that I won't be doing this year, everybody to their own, roll on next year!!!

  15. I did the race on Sat and enjoyed it very much even though it was tough! Atmosphere in park was lovely on finishing. My time and placing as well as f50 category win made it all the more worthwhile. Will be back again next year. Why enter races and then just moan about prices afterwards??? Just think of Jerry Forde and how inspirational he is!!
