The Kilnaboy 10 mile road race took place on Sunday, the 14th of April 2013 and attracted a field of just 107 runners. In comparison to previous years, this is a major drop and hasn't been this low since around 1998.
One obvious factor here of course was the demise of the Munster Ten-Mile Spring Classics Series. The Kilnaboy race was the last one of the four in the series and was a major factor in people traveling here.

Massive decrease in numbers. Must be demoralising for the organisers. Another victim of the overcrowded race calendar.
ReplyDeleteWonder would the national 10k in Phoenix park have anything to do with the low turn out
