Race notice...Waterford to Tramore 7.5 mile road race - Sat 4th May

The 44th Annual Waterford to Tramore 7.5 mile road race is coming up on Saturday, 4th May 2012. This is the third race in the Ger Wyley Sports Summer Series.

Entries will be taken at the Theatre Royal, The Mall from 5.45 pm -6.45 sharp (next to the city hall). It is €12 to enter on the night.

This race begins outside Waterford City Hall in Waterford at 7pm sharp and finishes opposite the Majestic Hotel in Tramore. Note that runners need to organise a lift back to Waterford to collect your car. Changing and shower facilities plus refreshments and prize-giving will take place in the Tramore GAA clubhouse after the race.

Course.....

 The course basically is inside the hard shoulder of the road from Waterford to Tramore. It's wide enough so that there is plenty of room for traffic to pass. There is a slight pull towards the centre point of the race but nothing serious. Overall, you should expect to set a fast time here.

Travel Options.....

If you cannot organise two car or a lift after the race, you might consider the bus option. Bus Éireann have a regular service between Tramore and Waterford City. Note that this is very much an underused option!
