Kerry...Results of the Ballybunion Half-Marathon, 10k & 5k - Sat 4th Apr 2015

The Ballybunion Half-Marathon was held on Saturday the 4th of April and attracted a field of 162 runners. There was a also the usual 10k which got the bulk of the runners with 348 taking part. There was also a new 5k which just 80 entrants.

This is a chart showing the numbers for the last few years.

As you can see, the current numbers are well down on the peak back in 2012. Even allowing for the fact that some of those who might have done the 10k opted instead for the 5k, the combined total is still down on last year. Not exactly sure why the constant drop year after year? Perhaps it's just a sign of there being so many events on the calendar?

  1. the price for the half was €50 which is steep but i reg a few months ago for early bird €35 which is good enough value. nobodys gonna get a pb on the half its one of the toughest around the 10k and 5k are reasonable fast though but both of them races cost €22 each. the t-shirt was pretty much the same as last year available in the two colours again red and black the medal was exactly the same these things need to be updated. to be fair there was great food after the event aswell. there is just a few things to fix to get the crowds back overall a very good event
