Notice...Open Cross Country, Newcastlewest, Co.Limerick - Sun 30th Aug 2015

With the cross country season coming up in late Autumn, West Limerick AC are organising an event which should appeal to club athletes in training as well as those who have never tried X-Country before.

From the organisers...West Limerick AC...The Demesne is a parkland so the races will be run on short grass.  The Fit4Life event will be a flat course on short grass within the park.

Both Open events will include some hills, and will cross two bridges, all also within the park.

All events are open to everyone, non-club runners are very welcome. The event is AAI permitted.

We are hoping that it will give those new to athletics a taste of what cross country running is about and may attract more athletes to competing in Co. Championships in time. For the more experienced we hope it will be a good pre-season run for anyone targeting upcoming cross country championships.

The race HQ is the  local community centre.

Juvenile race...

Special guest John Lenihan will be there on the day to start the races and present prizes after. Kerry athelete John is a World Mountain Running Champion and recently released his book "Tough As Leather" which will be available to purchase on the day.
