Charity 4K Run in aid of the South East Radiotherapy Trust
On Wednesday 17th of February 2016 Clonmel Athletic Club will host their annual Charity 4k race in aid of SERT (South East Radiotherapy Trust) . The principal aim of the Trust is to support the provision of transport for cancer patients from this area. This is a very worthy cause and Clonmel AC are delighted to help in some small way to raise much needed funds to help SERT provide their essential services .
SERT provides free transport for patients 260 days of the year to Oncology Treatment at UPMC Hospital, Whitfield, Waterford on a completely voluntary basis. Transport is provided at no cost to the patient and relies on voluntary contribution to cover transport replacement, motor tax, insurance and maintenance. All Administration, including Driving is done on a totally voluntary basis. Working within our communities by providing this transport, SERT make a significant impact towards helping cancer patients receive state of the art radiotherapy and improve their outcome.
ALL money donated and collected at our 4K on Wednesday 17th February will go directly to this very worthy cause, so spread the word.
Walkers, fun runners, jogger & runners all welcome to this 4k charity event. No particular entry fee, just make a donation on the night. Starts at 7pm outside the Brothers of Charity car park on St Patrick's Road, Silversprings, Clonmel. Registration from 6:15pm onwards. High Viz bib / vest MUST be worn.
