the cold this morning in Ardfinnan was unreal. The wind chill was wicked.
ReplyDeleteGreat race tho'. Nice varied route, plenty of ups and downs but nothing too severe. All the kilometre markings were signposted, lots of stewards on duty, chip timing, water at the 4k mark, food afterwards in the GAA hall, and a hot shower if one wanted it.
Shame there wasn't more taking part. This race deserves more participants.
The lovely countryside route meant we had plenty of spectators along the way - a herd of cows at the 3k mark, a couple of vicious looking dogs around he 6k mark ( good job they were caged in or none of us with have made the finish line !), 4 horses watching us at the 7k mark just before we rejoined the main road, and 2 lovely donkeys braying their support on our left as we approached the 8k mark.
All in all, a good start to our St Patricks Day in Ardfinnan !!
