| New course record for David McCarthy |
The annual Moycarkey Coolcroo 5k road race in Tipperary was held this year on Friday 13th of June 2025 and all sort of records were broken.
A total of 265 runners took part in this years race, up a whopping 43% on last year. Not only is that a pretty good turnout for a 5k race in rural Tipperary but it was also a record number.
The 5k race is noted for being a fast course and this is reflected in the results with 82 runners finishing under 20 minutes.
The first man home was David McCarthy of West Waterford in a new course record time of 14m 29s!
The first woman was Dymphna Ryan of Dundrum AC who finished in a time of 16m 59s, another course record.
