Race calendar passes 300,000 page views

At the end of 2018, the race calendar on the Running in Munster site reached an important milestone when it passed 300,000 page views!

The problem with most race calendars is that they don't list all the events or they list events at the other end of the country which are of no interest.

The objective of this calendar is to list all the running events in Munster plus the three counties in the south of Leinster... i.e. a race calendar for the southern counties of Ireland.

The main calendar is on the Running in Cork site and this gets updated nearly every day. After a few days, the complete calendar is copied across to the Running in Munster site.

Between the two sites, the race calendar has racked up just under 1 million page views.

Kerry: Results of the Charles O'Shea 10k & 5k in Beaufort - Tues 1st Jan 2019

The annual Charles O'Shea 10k race organised by Star of the Laune AC was held on New Years Day 2019 and got a big turnout of over 200 runners.

In the 10k, there was 109 finishers and in the 5k, it was 97 giving a grand total of 206. Last year, the total was 153.

As can be seen from the chart above, Star of the Laune AC introduced a 5k option in 2017 and this resulted in a major drop in the 10k numbers. In 2018, the total numbers recovered to about the 150 mark again. In 2019, the total numbers hit a new high.
