From Clonmel AC... The Morrison BMW 6k road race took
place in ideal conditions last night. It was the 3rd race of the series
and once again attracted a very good entry as precious points were down
for winning on the final night of the 3-race league as there was plenty
to run for in all four Divisions.
There were 46 teams entered and
except for one team all the other teams were in with a chance of
success, brilliant competition.
The Club would again like to thank Gary
Morrison and Morrison BMW Cahir for sponsoring this year’s series.
Last
night’s race was won by Jimmy Boland in 19 mins 44 secs, 2nd Colm
McCarthy (The Regular Blues) in 22 mins 38 secs and 3rd man was Ian
Purcell (IP Physical Therapy Team E) in 23 mins 1 sec.
The top three
women were Dympna Ryan (Where is the Finish) in 22 mins 49 secs, 2nd was
Kealey Tideswell (STGH 2) in 23 mins 51 secs and 3rd was Suzanne Shine
(In it to Win It) in 25 mins 6 secs.
The Club would like to thank all
the team Captains for all their help in making this series of race a
brilliant success. The Club would also like to thank Tipperary ETB for
the use of Colaiste Cheitinn as race Headquarters and to Tess Kiely for
all her help, the Loreto Convent for the use of their facilities as the
finish, the Gardai and the Civil Defence. We would also like to
acknowledge the help of all our stewards and officials throughout the
series, very much appreciated.
