Notice: Kilsheelan 10 mile road race in Tipperary - Sun 8th March 2020

This 10 mile road race organised in association with Clonmel AC is coming up on Sunday the 8th of March 2020.

The race HQ is in the village of Kilsheelan which is located just east of Clonmel in South Tipperary.


The race HQ is at the local community centre pictured below. This is just off the road north from Kilsheelan.

Entry Fee: 20 euro plus online registration fee of €2.10

All runners will be chip timed by Premier Timing Systems.


Course.... The course is slightly changed from 2019 as the start and finish lines are now much closer to the centre of Kilsheelan.



Description from the organisers... Start on R706 north of Railway Line, Kilsheelan village, take road to Ormond Stores junction with N76, cross straight over N76, and continue towards Ballypatrick village.  Turn left at Graigue Boreen Cross towards Killurney, pass Killurney National School and Community Hall, turn left at next junction on the R706 back towards the Ormond Stores, turn right at Coffey’s Corner towards Anner Castle, and back down to the N76, cross the N76 and down the slip road straight towards the N24, turn left here and back into Kilsheelan village on the footpath to finish in Kilsheelan village around Robinson’s Pub.


Water Stations... There will be 5 manned water stations at Ballyknockane, Graigue Boreen, Killurney School, Coffey’s Cross & Anner Castle. Water to be available at start of race and race finish.

Race Headquarters is Kplan Community Centre.  Registration and collection of race numbers will take place in community rooms.  Toilets and showers are available for use in the Community Centre.  


Profile.....There is one drag from about 2.5 to 3.5 miles but it's only an ascent of 80ft spread out over a mile.

Overall, it should be a pretty fast course.
