Kerry...Results of the Freaky 5k - Fri 26th Oct 2012

Some 260 'souls' took part in this unique 5k in Castleisland, Co.Kerry on Friday evening, the 26th of October.

Race notice...Freaky 5k Night Run, Castleisland, Kerry - Fri 26th Oct 2012

Now for something different! An Riocht AC are holding a special 5k run at night from their track in Castleisland, Co.Kerry on Friday, the 26th of October at 7pm. The entry fee of €10 includes a head torch.


The race will be run over a 5 km course and is suitable for runners of all abilities. Castleisland in the heart of Co.Kerry is within easy reach of several other towns including Killarney, Tralee and Listowel.


You can pre-enter online HERE. The race starts out on the main road outside O'Donoghues garage. You then run through the town before doing a loop on quiet country roads to the south-east of the town.



This is the only section where the course overlaps by around 200 metres.

The road junction near the An Ríocht AC track. First time round, it's just after the start and you run straight through the town. As you get near the end of the race, you turn left here and down the quiet road towards the finish on the track. 

If you are not familiar with the location of the An Ríocht AC track and clubhouse then as you can see from the the photo above, it is clearly signposted from the main road that runs through the town.
