This years Waterford Half-Marathon attracted a large field of just over 1500 runners. In 2013, there were 1384 finishers. It was 1352 in 2013. Now in 2014, it's up at 1509 which as half marathons go outside of Dublin, it's up there with the biggest.
Both the mens and womens course record weren't as much broken but utterly smashed. Martin Fagan took over 2 minutes off the mens record while Lizzie Lee took a huge three minutes thirty three seconds off the womens.

Great race. Very well organised with an excellent selection of blaas after!!!
The course was a bit hillier than I was expecting though.
been racing regularly for past 12 yrs and have to say this was the best all round organised event I've ran in. Well done Waterford. Top class
The grub after this race is normally excellent. This year, friends, families etc. were given free access, so the food was gone before the last 400? came home. It caused a lot of rancour on the day, WAC committee members told some of our lot that they were under no obligation to feed runners. That, combined with the hillier course a lot of people in our club said they wouldn't do it again.
