Tipperary...Results of the Barlo Motor Group 4k race, Clonmel - Wed 3rd Feb 2016

The fourth race of five in the Barlo Motor Group 4K series in Clonmel was held on Wednesday the 3rd of February 2016.

Report from Clonmel AC... Tonight’s race was another brilliant success with 186 athletes competing on what was a very good night for running, dry and very little breeze. Tonight’s race format was lucky dip and the lucky winners were Brian Looram, Derek Nolan, Ritchie Meehan, Gerry Burgess, Jimmy Lonergan, Jane English, Noel O Neill, Noel Prendergast, Susan Hickey, Paula Dwan, Karen Pollard, Amanda Williams and the winner of the New car from the Barlo Motor Group for a week was Sandra Lee, congrats to all our winners. 

The Club would like to thank the Barlo Motor group for such generous sponsorship, the Brothers of Charity for the use of their carpark, the Civil Defence for covering the First Aid and to our many stewards the Club appreciate the hard work you also put in to ensure the whole event is promoted safely.

The winner of tonight’s race was Nigel o Flaherty (Cahir Physio) in 14 mins 9 secs, Colm Ryan (Run for Wine) was 2nd in 14 mins 19 secs and 3rd was Martin Keane in 14 mins 51 secs. 


The top three women in tonight’s race were Clare Annan (Team Blue)in 15 mins 39 secs, 2nd Aine Roche in 16 mins 5 secs and 3rd was Linda Grogan (West and South) in 16 mins 17 secs.

Please note that the 6th race of this series, Wednesday 17th February is for a very worthy cause, SERT (South East Radiotherapy Trust). This service provides free transport for seven patients 260 days of the year to Oncology Treatment at UPMC Hospital, Whitfield, Waterford on a completely voluntary basis. Transport is provided at no cost to the patient and relies on voluntary contribution to cover transport replacement, motor tax, insurance and maintenance. All Administration, including Driving is done on a totally voluntary basis, nobody is paid, so a very worthy cause. So all monies donated and collected at our 4K on Wednesday 17th February will go to this very worthy cause, so spread the word.
