Conditions were pretty awful for this 5k and 10k race in Kenmare Co.Kerry on Saturday the 26th of March 2016. Between the two races, a total of 98 runners braved the conditions.

Race Notice...Kenmare 10k Bridge Run - Sat 9th Feb 2013

This race was held for the first time in Feb 2012 and it got a great turnout. It is also one of the few road races actually held in South Kerry. Last year's results HERE

Kerry...Wild West Run Trail Half-Marathon - Sat 25th Feb 2012

 A large crowd of 225 runners turned out for this trail half-marathon between Kenmare and Killarney in Kerry.

There was a great start for this new 10k road race in south Kerry with over 160 runners taking part. The winner of the inaugural Kenmare 10k was George Waugh of Bandon AC in a time of 33:45. Local Maureen Harrington was the first woman home in 40:32.

Race notice for the Kenmare 10k...Sat 11th Feb 2012

If you were to look through the list of road races in Kerry throughout the year, you'll find that there are relatively few in the south Kerry region. As a result, this new 10k race in Kenmare is bound to be of interest to a lot of people.

This 10km race will start (2pm) and end in the centre of the town and take in Kenmare’s three iconic bridges. The entry fee is €15. Teams of 2 and 4 are welcome, and entry fee is €20 per team, as is anyone wishing to walk the route.

Race headquarters will be in the Community Centre, Shelburne Street, Kenmare and will be open from 12:30pm on the day. To enter in advance, email the contact given on the Kenmare AC website and they will send you a form to return with your cheque. To enter online (individual €15 entries only) go to www.runireland.com/events/kenmare-bridge-10km-run.

In addition there will be a 1 mile race aimed at 18s, but also open to adults and walkers, which also starts and ends in the town. Entry fee for this is €5 with proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald House at Crumlin Hospital in Dublin which provides a home-from-home for families with seriously ill children. Kerry...Preview of the Jack+Jill 10k Kenmare - Sat 24th Apr 2010

This is a charity fundraiser, organized by Kenmare Tri, taking place in Kenmare on Saturday at 3pm.

This race has it's own web-site.

I did this last year, and I can assure you the picture at the left hand side is an indication of the steep gradient !

The race starts in the town centre, and heads north. very soon, you encounter a steep hill. In fact a 650 foot high hill ! There's a great view and some refreshements at the top.

Last year over 1000 people entered. €29,000 was raised for a deserving cause. The Jack and Jill is a family friendly event and kids, buggies, grannies and doggies (on a lead) are welcome 'Monies' raised in the event for 2010 are to be donated to The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation and Kenmare Branch Kerry Mental Health Jack and Jill provide respite care for severely ill children, up to the age of four, and their families, in the Republic of Ireland, Including many in Kerry and surrounds.

Kenmare Branch Kerry Mental Health provides Mental Health Day-care facilities for people of the surrounding district and aspires to open a facility in Kenmare. Jack and Jill Run up The Hill 2010 is open to runners and walkers of all ages.

The entry fee is €30.00 and € 2.00 euro for a timing chip (optional)

Under 16’s must be accompanied and can enter for a minimum of € 5.00
