Races in Munster this weekend...Tue 29 Jun to Mon 5 Jul 2010

A well known Cork Athlete

won the Portumna Marathon on Saturday.
There was a 100km, 50km, and full marathon event.
John Desmond, creator of this Blog, came first in the Full Marathon event.

Tuesday 29 June
Tipperary......The Tipperary Senior/Masters Track & Field Championships takes place at Templemore at 6:45pm

Thursday 1 July
Cork......There's a new event on the CorkBHAA Calendar.
The AIB Macroom Daniel Kingston Memorial 5k at 8pm.
Usual BHAA entry fees: €5 registered / €8 non-members.

Friday 2 July
Tipperary......The
Champion Kiely Ballyneale 5k is at 7:30pm
This is r
ace 2 of the Outfield Sports Three Counties Challenge.

Entry fee €10 and Chip timing will be used. You can pre-enter for this race.
Ballyneale is a little west of Carrick-on-Suir, just off the R696, which is between the N24, N76.
Organized by Carrick-on-Suir AC.

Cork......Another new race, the Ballinascarthy 10K in West Cork at 7.30pm.
This may suit those who did the recent Dunmanway 10K.
Ballinascarthy is on the N71 road from Bandon to Clonakilty road.
Entry Fee €10, and all proceeds go to Ghana School Building Fund.

Saturday 3 July
Cork......The Cork City Sports are on at the CIT Track on Saturday. Starts 2pm.
Admission: Stand €15, Ground €10, Students & OAP €5

Clare......The Ger Keane 5k fun run at 2pm.

Limerick......The Dromcolliher 4 Mile Road Race. See junction of R515 and R522 roads.
Entry €10 at the Dromcollogher-Broadford GAA club, opposite Watson's yellow service station on the R522 Newcastle West road.
