Waterford: Results of the Ballinroad 5k - Fri 9th May 2025

The first race in the 2025 West Waterford Summer Series was held on Friday 9th of May in Ballinroad on the eastern outskirts of Dungarvan. A total of 275 runners crossed the finish line on this fine summer evening.

Notice: Ballinroad 5k road race in Dungarvan - Fri 10th May 2024

From West Waterford AC... "Our first race in our summer road race programme for 2024 will get underway with the AHS Tuning Ireland sponsored Ballinroad 5k on Friday May 10th at 7.30 pm.  

Firstly our sincere thanks to John Coleman of AHS Tuning for his continued sponsorship of this race which he has sponsored for the past 9 years.

This year once again we are delighted to be able to help and support the local community in Ballinroad as the local soccer club Ballinroad A.F.C. will be benefactors of the race , with monies donated towards their Pitch fund. 

The race will incorporate a fun run/walk with proceeds from them going towards the clubs fund for this project.

 This is a very fast flat course and will start the summer of racing off with a bang!  Number collection will be at Ballinroad Hall (X35KT53) up until 7pm.

Please note: Each race of the Series can be entered online separately prior to the event for €10 but entry on the night to each race will be €15.  Entry to Dromana will be €15 online and €20 on the night as there will  be a dri fit tshirt for all runners."

Notice: Ballinroad 5k road race in W Waterford - Fri 13th May 2022

The Ballinroad 5k race is coming up in Dungarvan on Friday the 13th of July 2022 at 7:30pm. This is the 1st race of 6 in the West Waterford Summer Series. 

This race costs €10 to enter and you have to pre-enter.

All at our club wish John and his team ever success in his new premises out on Coolagh road where he has recently moved to a bigger premises with his successful AHS Tuning Ireland business.

This year once again after a two year break due to covid we are delighted to be able to help and support the local community in Ballinroad as the local soccer club Ballinroad A.F.C. will be the benefactors of the race , with monies donated towards their Pitch fund. 

The race will incorporate a fun run/walk with proceeds from them going towards the clubs fund for this project. 

Starting at 7.30 pm with Ballinroad community hall as the race H. Q. 

A huge turnout is expected if last year is anything to go by as we deem the race to be the fastest flattest 5k course around. As you know in West Waterford AC we like to cater for all and have different prize structures in all our races, for the Ballinroad race we will have prizes for the top 5 men and women with lots and lots of spots for down the field finishers. 

The entry fee is 10 euro pre entry online.

The course chosen for the race is an excellent out and back course which is very flat so if it’s your first attempt at the 5k distance or you’re looking for a fast time on a flat- fast course this is your opportunity to shine.

The first race of 11 in the Ger Wyley Sport / SKINS Summer Series kicked off on Friday evening the 8th of April 2016 with the Ballinroad 5k in Dungarvan. A total of 320 runners took part in this race and that represents a welcome 15.5% increase on the 2015 numbers. A whopping 133 of the total came from the host club West Waterford AC.
