Races in Munster this weekend...Fri 26th-Sat 27th June 2009

This weekend in Munster, there are 3 races on offer....
Friday 26th June...
Waterford....17th Annual Dungarvan Leader Dromana 5
Race 7 in the Ger Wyley/Nike summer series
This race starts at 8 p.m. It begins in the village of Villierstown and ends in the town of Cappoquin. Entries will be taken at the hall in Villierstown and the entry fee is €10. Chip timing. Showers and the presentation of prizes will be in the Central Bar in Cappoquin.
As this race starts in Vilierstown and finishes in Cappoquin, you will need to arrange a lift back to collect your car.
Men's Prizes: 1st 10 men and 1st three teams (4 to score)
Ladies Prizes: 1st 5 ladies and the 1st team (4 to score)
Team prizes outside of individual prizewinners
Course Record: 23.49 John Treacy (1997) €100 cash bonus to break course record
Ladies record: 29.08 €100 cash bonus to break course record

(Additional info from Danny McCarthy of Midleton AC........the road between Dungourney and Tallow is closed with a diversion via Ballynoe causing a delay in case any people use this road to get to Cappaqinn/Villierstown for the Dromina 5 on Fri night)


Saturday 27th June...

Clare........This 10km road race starts in Ennis, Co.Clare at 10am on Saturday, the 27th of June and is one of the biggest race events in the county for the year. This year, they are expecting close to 1,500 entries. Online Registration is now Closed. Registration can still be done at the Clare People office, Mill Road, Ennis which will remain open until 9pm on Friday. Limited registrations will also be accepted at Lees Road on Saturday morning, prior to the run. More information about the route, entry and contact details can be found on their website.


Cork.........There is a 10 km road race in Courtmacsherry in west Cork. Details on the Running in Cork website later on Friday.
