Kerry...Road to Rio funding project from An Ríocht AC

From the organisers.....An Ríocht AC has currently two national champions whose dream of participating in the Olympics is now well within their sights. It is however unfortunate timing in one sense, where there was once ample funding available from the government for professional athletes, every cent is now a struggle, even for the proven, high profile figures in Irish athletics. This is a much spoken about topic in the Irish media today but alas it remains in disarray with many of the country’s best prospects being unable to give the commitment necessary to reach their full potential.

With two club athletes on the brink of international success it would be against our philosophy at An Ríocht to allow them fall through the cracks of a flawed system . As these athletes compete year in year out for our club, it is our responsibility to do our utmost to ensure that their talent is nurtured correctly, that they can train efficiently and to the best of their abilities and be given every opportunity to be the best that they can be. With that we launch the An Ríocht- Road to Rio project, a high performance funding for our club athletes who are competing in elite circles and who we feel can continue to do so.

Let’s see Kerry represented in Rio!!
