From the organisers.....The Dooneen 6km road race is all set to take place on Friday June 6th 2014, kicking off at 7.30pm. It is the third race in a very successful Limerick Ballyhoura Race Series, which opened with the Galbally & Kilmallock 5mile events. This is a brand new race and is being organised by Dooneen A.C.
Details: Registration from 5.30pm at Analog Devices (opposite the Fás building) in Raheen Industrial Estate …Race Starts 7.30 Sharp…Prizes for 1st 2nd 3rd male and Female…1st O40 & O50 Male and Female…spot prizes and refreshments afterwards. Huge thanks to Limerick Sports Store, specifically, Siobhan McCormack for sponsoring a pair of New Balance runners for the winning male and female, with cash making up the remaining prizes. Thanks also to Amphibian King for sponsoring some vouchers which will be given out on the night as spot-prizes. Race-numbers will be selected at random from the entry sheet while the runners and walkers are out on the course and the prizes will be given to the winners as they cross the finish line. So don't hurry home, you’d never know, there might be a spot-prize waiting for you!!
Race Route: The race route will follow the same as that used in the Limerick Feet on the Street series, held earlier this year and so is tried and tested. It consists of 2 x 1 mile loops, followed by a large loop to make up the 6km total distance.
