A total of 193 runners turned out for the Kilnaboy 10 mile road race on what was a dull overcast day. With this being the final race in the John Buckley Sports Munster Ten-Mile Spring Classics Series, quite a few non-local runners made the trip from Waterford, Cork, Kerry and Tipperary.
The winner of the mens race was Michael Shannon of the host club in a time of 52:36. The winner of the womens race was Angela McCann in 60:16.
The numbers were down a fraction on last years figure of 195. The record for the event was set back in 2009 when 363 runners took part.
The full results can be seen HERE

doubt ya georgie boy, bandon rules
Thanks to Kilnaboy AC for holding a great race.. pity that the numbers are down ...well organised and great catering and brillant scenery
First Time running Kilnaboy and really enjoyed it, lovely scenic course. Course has a reputation for being tough but I fould it ok, downhill towards the end was very welcome. Well done on the prizes and refreshments also. Numbers were probably down as it was Easter Sunday and also clashed with other races such as Ballybunion Half. See ye next year.

Great to hear some positive feedback, looking forward to next year already!
James Neylon Kilnaboy AC
any photos James of Sundays race as there were plenty with camera's around ...nice atmosphere around after this tough windy course, the scenery makes it worth the while ... Thanks again ...
compared to the location of the other 3 races in the munster psring series the kilnaboy race is just too much of a trek for those of us from the cork area. this is why I feel the numbers are very low compared to the other 3. while this is a great race and well organised I feel something like the new cobh 10 or even a 10 miler in the killarney area would fit better in the series. I know its called the 'munster' spring series but this is practically galway!!
ya it would be good to get a few photos
thanks
grate race
