Results & photos of the Adare 10k in Co.Limerick...Sun 26th Feb 2017
This year's Adare 10k road race in Co.Limerick a record crowd of 726 runners, a jump of 22% on the 2016 figure. While many of the races in Munster have seen their peaks a few years back, this one continues to grow and is now one of the main 10k races in the province. The race was organised by West Limerick AC.
The winner of the mens race was Michael Harty of East Cork AC who set a new course record.

Adare 10k now closed
The Adare 10k road race which is coming up on Sunday the 26th of February is now closed! There will be no entries on the day.
Last year, the race attracted a bumper field of 595 people and that was a jump of 19% on the figure for 2015. The limit set for the race this year was 850.
Many of the races in Munster these days are past their peaks but this Adare race seems to be going from strength to strength.

Notice...Kilmacthomas 5 mile road race, Waterford - Sun 12th Feb 2017
The annual Kilmacthomas 5 mile road race will be held on Sunday the 12th of February 2017 at 11am.
As you can see from the race flyer above, it is being organised by West Waterford AC and only costs €8 to enter.
The village of Kilmacthomas is just off the N25 road and is roughly half way between Dungarvan and Waterford City.

Notice...Adare 10k road race, Co.Limerick - Sun 26th Feb 2017
The annual Adare 10k road race is coming up on Sunday the 26th of February 2017 at 1pm. Organised by West Limerick AC, this is always a popular race and attracts a large field of about 500 runners, way beyond the usual 200 or so most races get.
Please note that the entries have already passed the 500 mark so all the t-shirts are gone.

From the organisers......The 2017 edition of the Adare 10k will take place on Sunday February 26th at 1pm. Entry to the race is limited to 850 entries *. Every finisher will receive a medal.
Entry fee is €20 plus booking fee online. Entry in person on Saturday or Sunday of the race weekend is €25 for the chip timed run or €10 for the non competitive walk.
Registration will take place in the Adare village hall on Saturday 25th from 2pm to 5pm and on Sunday from 10am to 12.30pm. There will be no entries after 12.30pm as the race will start at 1pm sharp.
There will be Individual, Category and team prizes presented in the Village Hall after as well as tea/coffee and food for all race participants.

Walkers can enter on the weekend for €10 and get a medal only, but not chip timing or t shirt.

Following a recent meeting of the organizing committee we have had to reduce the entry number of Adare 10k to 850 entrants for health and safety reasons. This is to ensure that everyone who enters has a safe enjoyable race. Should we reach this number we will be unable to let anyone else register.
As of this morning we have 550 people registered online.
The 2017 edition of the Adare 10k will take place on Sunday February 26th at 1pm. Entry to the race is now limited to 850 entries. Every finisher will receive a medal.
Entry fee is €20 plus booking fee online. Entry in person on Saturday or Sunday of the race weekend is €25 for the chip timed run or €10 for the non competitive walk.

Notice...Killarney Winter 5k Series - Sat 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th Feb 2016
Gneeveguilla AC in Co.Kerry are holding their annual 5k series of races in Killarney in February 2017. The first race starts on Saturday the 4th of February with the remaining three races on the 11th, 18th & 25th of February 2017.
Each 5k race is on a route which is probably one of the fastest in Co.Kerry. It has been accurately measured by Jones Counter. The series also has an Athletics Ireland permit.
Each race starts at 11am sharp and costs just €6 to enter.
Prizes...To qualify for a prize, you must complete at least three out of the four races. After the 4th and final race, there will be refreshments and the series prizes will be given out. There are a substantial number of prizes which take the form of vouchers for local retail outlets in Killarney. One prize per person. In the event that someone wins a top 10 prize and a category prize then they will win the prize of greater value.
Directions & Preview...A full preview of the new course with directions and maps can be seen HERE
Overall........A stunning location for a race series. Nice fast accurate 5 km course in a park that most towns in Ireland would love to have. It costs just €6 to enter each race and is suitable for runners of all abilities...from serious to joggers. People come from all over the world to visit this location.
