This 4 mile road race in Waterford attracted an impressive turnout of 344 runners. The mens race was won by Alan O'Shea of Bantry AC in a time of 18:53 which is 4m 44s per mile. What is even more impressive is the fact that while this race started at 11am, the Cork man had won the 5 mile race in Killarney in Kerry the previous evening at 8pm!
